Examining the United States’ foreign policy regarding the issue of Jews in France during World War II is not merely aimed at identifying the country’s ideological or religious perspectives but rather reflects a historical approach to the study of international relations, highlighting the role of the U.S. in shaping the political trajectory of nations based on its strategic interests and objectives. This study seeks to investigate the influence of human, economic, and geopolitical factors on the orientation of U.S. foreign policy by explaining the theoretical and intellectual foundations of American political decision-making. In this context, the situation of French Jews at different stages of World War II and the behavior of the Vichy government toward them are analyzed to show that a significant part of the anti-Jewish policies in France was rooted in structural collaboration with Nazi Germany. The findings indicate that during the early stages of the war, the United States adopted an ambiguous and indecisive stance toward these developments; however, in the final stages of the war, coinciding with the growing influence of Zionist movements in the U.S., Washington’s policy gradually shifted toward indirect support for the idea of establishing a national state for the Jews in Palestine.
