Abstract

The Islamic Revolution of Iran is a perfect embodiment of a social and political movement. Many sociologists and scientists have tried to understand the favorable conditions and causes of the Islamic Revolution using theories of revolution. However, few studies have attempted to present a theory arising from the experience of the revolution's activists to explain the dimensions of a theoretical model. The main actors of revolutions, who sometimes become the main managers after the revolution, present theories about the internal causes of the formation of revolutions that, in most cases, are not consistent with existing theories. Then, by examining and studying the speeches of Ayatollah Khamenei, related themes were extracted and coded. The results of the research show that this pattern has three dominant themes: the leadership of the Constitutional Movement and its identity with eleven dimensions, the deviation and failure of the Constitutional Movement with nine, and the consequences of the failure of the Constitutional Movement with five dimensions. The relationships between these themes are also presented in the form of a general pattern.
