Constitutional poetry, due to its commitment to social realities, served as a reflection of contemporary events, and the primary mission of the poet was to express political and social truths. Bahār's poetry was no exception to these concerns; his political verse evolved in line with themes of freedom, homeland, independence, and the demand for rights, among others. With such preoccupations and in keeping with his political responsibility, the poet gave voice to human sentiments and emotions within the framework of his thought and poetic ideals. It was with this very spirit that he rose up in struggle against all adversities, despotism, and the harshness of his times. However, the failure to achieve these ideals, ultimately compounded by the First World War, the spread of chaos, and the endangerment of the nation's existence and independence, led many intellectuals—including poets such as Bahār—to consider welcoming a coup d'état as a means to restore political order in the country. From Bahār's perspective, political order and the establishment of a strong central government were foundational to achieving progress and prosperity for the nation. The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical, and the data collection method is library-based. The research findings indicate that idealism in Malek al-Sho'arā Bahār's poetry functioned not only as a literary feature but also as a tool for promoting critical thinking. Bahār's intellectual dualities likewise demonstrate the literary richness and depth of his thought and emotions, which, given the historical circumstances of his time, enabled him to depict human complexities in his works—a testament to the intellectual evolution of a poet across different periods.
